Orientation Programme for MBA - 12 (2015-17)

A two weeks programme was organised for new inducted batch MBA 12 from 21 July to 01 Aug 2015. The programme was a mixed bag of classes, fun, excitement, games and expert sessions. MBA 12 batch students started reporting from 20th July 2015 with heavy bags and baggage to start a new journey of life full of exuberance. AIMT felt fresh air and liveliness with young mind and high spirits. The Director, all faculty and staff welcomed new batch with a formal inaugural session wherein experts from various Industries and representatives from Institute Management Committee interacted.

Day one, inaugural session started with felicitation of guests, lighting of lamp and different speeches by dignitaries. Director Dr. Pawan Gupta presented welcome address followed by Mr. Amit Bajpai and Mr. Dharmendra Pandey, Founder and Director, Rational India Private Limited. Key note was given by Mr. Alok Narain, EVP- Quatrro Global Services with highly captivating words and examples of his life. Next was a closing address by Brig. Brij Gopal, BGS – HQ, Delhi Area where he emphasised on basic values and ethics to be followed by each student in their life. Lastly, Prof. S. Mohanty, Programme Coordinator presented vote of thanks to all especially parents who were present at the occasion. High Tea was served with parents, corporate delegates, management representatives, faculty and MBA 12 batch. After inaugural session, Ice breaking activities of two hours session was organised by Dr. Shruti Gupta and Prof. Shikha Bhardwaj to enable students to understand each other. The day ended with faculty introduction, Registrar and programme coordinator briefings.

Day three, was a mixed bag of academic classes, team activities and visit to Aaj Tak News channel for a live talk show “Delhi ki dil mein kya hey” at Film City Noida. Thursday began with fundamentals of Information Technology, accounting for mangers by Dr. Barnali Chaklader, Professor-IMI and winded up with the search of treasure across the campus in groups followed by yoga session. Weekend got over by making friends, interacted new people, introductions and an interesting practical assignment of Pehla Kadam to visit nearby unorganised retail stores. Sunday was sunny and bright enjoyed by playing sports like tug of war, Kho kho and race.

First week in the college got over with lot of activities, enthusiasm, excitement and team work. Second week started with the economics for managers as academic class followed by attitude building and yoga session in the evening. Tuesday started with accounting for managers by our Director Dr. Pawan Gupta, next was EVM – a road to career selection and winded up with a guest session from corporate expert Mr. Maninder Singh, Director- Roots Research followed by evening yoga session. The week was full on high spirited, motivational and intellectual talks by various guests like Mr Sanjiv Agarwal and Mrs Rashmi Agarwal, Mr. Deepak Ramola, Ms Subha Bhaskar, Mr. MA Mateen and our Alumni.

Orientation programme ended with a bang. Students went for Industrial visit to Mother Dairy and excursion trip to Delhi. They visited nearby places like Akshardham. The journey of constant learning and team work through orientation programme continued till 1st Aug. In the end, feedback was taken to identify areas of further improvement and change.

Orientation witnessed people coming and talking from all walks of life from top notch corporate professionals, academicians, motivational speakers and life coach. The programme was well crafted and designed to suit the needs of student from varied background like commerce, art and science. It has academic classes of economics, maths, accounts, IT and communication. In addition, it comprises of various soft skill workshop like change management, creative problem solving, attitude building, time management and gyaan session. It was topped with motivational and inspirational address by many eminent experienced professional. All in all, it was an event to remember with many outside campus activities like Pehla Kadam, live show on Aaj Tak News Channel, Delhi Darshan and Industrial Visit. It was executed with the intention of bringing holistic improvement in student, hence yoga and sports were regular in all the days.

In all, orientation programme was highly captivating, full of fun, activities, games and classes. It sets as a platform for new academic session of newly inducted batch with high hopes and desires. It also initiated some new bonds, friendships, teams which in turn create trust among students. Students were divided into syndicates, sections, assigned with mentors and introduced with various functional committees of the Institute. In the end, the orientation ended with broad smiles, more awareness about self and others.
